There was only one choice i had to make. A Lambretta or a Vespa?
The answer was easy. It had to be a Lambretta. Now before the Vespa enthusiasts start slamming their fists down, i would like to mention that i have nothing against Vespa's. But there is something about a Lammie that ignites a spark in me. She is also 100% Italian.
Maybe it's because they no longer make them, i don't know. My Lambretta LI125 is older than me. 45 years old to be exact. I hope to do it the justice it, sorry she, deserves by renovating her to a good standard.
I'm not too bothered about it being all original colours etc, but as long as it looks tidy then i'll be happy.
The restoration has begun in earnest. At the moment, she is partly stripped and ready for the sandblasters. Just about to remove the headset, which is a bit daunting for me, as it's my first restoration.
Managed to remove runners, legshields etc but had to "snip" off most of the bolts.
I'll post pics here as i go along.
